Teasers for the B Family

This morning (early this morning...lol), I made the drive up to Del Mar for my session with the B family. In just six short weeks, this family of three will become a family of four, and to honor the pregnancy, we got together for a maternity/family session. I made the drive up to the Powerhouse Community Center in beautiful Del Mar. Little J is almost 4 years old and just as cute as can be...and boy is he full of energy. :) We still managed to get some good photos of the little guy though. Mommy is all belly and glowing.

It was clear this was a happy, fun-loving, family, and I had a great time photographing them. Congratulations B family, and can't wait to meet the little princess!

Stop! Easter time...

Is anyone else shocked at how fast Easter has come and gone this year? I still feel like it's supposed to be a couple of weeks away...but no, it just passed. And here we are - one quarter of the year gone by; headed into the fourth month; and my daughter is officially an 18-month old. My how the time flies.

Anywho...back to Easter. Didn't do much this year. I chalk that up to the holiday pretty much sneaking up on us. Family went to church (but then...we go every Sunday); had a nice home-cooked meal of slow-cooked lamb, boiled cabbage, cornbread, and potato salad. So very good. Our little angel didn't get to do an egg-hunt, but we're saving that for next year, when we think she will have a better grasp of the concept and really be able to enjoy herself. Tried to pull a mini-session with her though. Still editing some of the photos, but here are the results thus far.

I will try to upload more photos from the sesh soon. May be awhile, as I have my very first maternity shoot tomorrow morning. I'm very excited about it. She is the daughter of one of my old co-workers, and she and her husband are having their second child - a little sister for their {adorable} little boy. I already have a ton of ideas for the shoot; I hope they pan out well. Look for a couple of teasers from that session as early as Sunday!

Enjoy your weekend!

Sneak Peek for the Graduate

Today I had my very first senior portrait session. I had the pleasure of photographing the son of a very good friend of mine. G is graduating high school this year (which I still can't believe...I've known him since he was yay high...lol), and his mom wanted some nice photos to include for his graduation invitations. We had originally planned on getting some shots at his high school, but it was closed for the day. So we wound up at a nearby lake and were still able to get some great shots. Here are a few from the day...

The B Girls in Coronado

This past Sunday, I had the pleasure of photographing two of the prettiest little girls I've ever met. Our session took place at the Coronado beach and the historic Hotel Del Coronado. Sisters, G & H are about five years apart, and are so sweet and fun together. Little sister, H, of course wanted to do everything that big sister, G, wanted to do. Well, everything short of splashing in the water. Still, it was so much fun watching these girls just enjoy life.

Here are a couple of shots from their session:

Isn't this girl model material?

The eyes on this girl - just gorgeous.

With momma. No wonder they're so pretty!

Up late and still getting action...

...Photoshop action that is. hehe But yeah, I'm up late and just learning (aka playing around) to maneuver Photoshop and apply some actions on some of my photos. Basically just trying to get in some practice, since I have a shoot coming up this Sunday. I'm very excited about it. I actually went to high school with this woman, and she has two of the most adorable little girls I've ever seen. They seem like such fun little girls, too, so I'm excited to capture them interacting together.

Well, I think it's time for a midnight snack (which for once, is pretty accurate since it's just about to hit twelve). Before I go though, here are a couple of photos that I managed to make 'decent' edits to...
