It's that time...

~ VOTING CLOSED ~

Sorry I'm late getting to this, but you can blame Cox Cable for this one. As many know, we moved this past weekend. Our internet/phone/cable was supposed to be set up on Saturday, but apparently they didn't turn it on. Sunday we called it quits a little early because we were all beat; it was then we realized our services hadn't been activated. So hubby called them and after making him run up and down the stairs to test all the jacks in every room, they still couldn't fix it. They couldn't get a tech out to us until yesterday, frustrating me even further. Oh well - I'm just glad they were finally able to get us up and running.

So all that said, let's just put it in the past and look to future. There are more important things to think about - like who is going to win our Sweet Faces contest. We got lots of adorable entrants - so cute they all are, I'm just glad that I'm not the one who has to decide who the winner is. Voting starts now and since we were delayed in getting this up, the final voting day is now moved to Sunday, April 5.

So here's how it works - in the comment section, post the number of the photo you'd like to vote for. Remember, only ONE vote per household, per day. Make sure you tell your family and friends so they can get in on the voting, too! Please note that in an effort to maintain fairness, no 'anonymous' votes will be counted.

So without further ado, I give you your Sweet Faces contestants...

Sneak Peek for Mr. T!

So yesterday afternoon I met the most adorable little boy. T is seven years old and as could be expected, he is very much an active boy and wanted to do everything except get his picture taken. ;) lol But he put up with me and my camera just long enough to get some great shots of him. I always ask the older kids if they have boyfriends or girlfriends because I think their reactions (to this always seemingly absurd question) are hilarious, and T didn't let me down. Well T, if you don't have any girlfriends now, I'm sure you'll have plenty of girls chasing after you when they see these. :)

Like I said, very active guy. :)

Not to mention, totally handsome

Vacation's over...

But before I get to photography updates, let me just do a quick recap of what I enjoyed about this holiday season. First let me also say that I hope you all thoroughly enjoyed your holidays as much as I did. I took time off, both from photography and the full-time job. It was so nice to just relax and spend time with family and friends. Had a great Christmas - especially loved watching my family open their gifts. Particularly my daughter. I wish I would've photographed her face when my husband unveiled the new play kitchen we bought for her. Her face lit up and she said, "oh my dod!" (oh my God, but she hasn't mastered her G's yet. lol). She loves that thing. We also enjoyed ringing in the new year by attending our good friends' pajama jammy jam. I was sooo glad not to have to stress over what to wear, spending too much money, waiting in long lines, et al. We just threw on our pajamas, headed to the party, and spent the night playing games, talking, dancing, and sipping champagne. It was a great time and a nice way to welcome the new year.

So that said, I guess it's time to back to work. Which is ok by me - I've missed my camera a bit. :)

Lots of big things happening for us this year. First, Sweetface Photography will be celebrating our one year anniversary this month! I recommend adding yourself to my mailing list or becoming a follower of this blog because there will be a one-day contest coming up verrry soon. ;)

Also, I will soon be launching my new website so keep your eye out for that. I'm very excited to get that off the ground. It's been a work in progress, but it's finally coming together.

Which brings me to this. In preparation of the launch of the website and in an effort to expand my portfolio I will be offering limited portfolio building appointments over the next month or so.
I’m looking for a few new models to build my portfolio, so I’m in need of the following…

Boys Age Groups:
Newborn (six weeks old or less), 6-9

Girls Age Groups:
Newborn (six weeks old or less), 3-5

Adults:
Couples with teenage children

Models will receive:

A free mini-session, two complimentary 8x10 prints from your session, and 15% off additional prints.

Two spots are open for each category and age group! Model search ends January 31, 2009! If you’d like to book a session please email me at info [at] sweetfacephotography.com.

You asked...

I've received a couple of emails about this contest, so I thought I'd post the questions and their respective answers in case anyone else was thinking along the same lines.

Q. Are you only accepting entries from people with children?
A. Absolutely not. Family is what YOU make it. So whether it's just you and your spouse, a couple and their dog, you and your siblings, or even just you, submit your entry!

Q. I'm a mom and usually the one with the camera, so I don't have any recent pictures of all of us together. Will you accept an old photo or one of just my kids?
A. Of course! Trust me, I know how you're feeling. Pictures of all three of us (me, husband, and daughter) are few and far between. But hey - there's a reason I'm behind the camera ;)

Q. Can I submit an entry for someone else?
A. Hmm. This one is tricky. I would hate to tread on someone's privacy. If for some reason your nominee doesn't have an email address or something, I suppose you could enter them. I would just need their phone number so I could contact them and verify everything, prior to posting the finalists. I will also need your contact information so I can let them know who referred me.

So let me repost the contest and its rules for you. Get those entries in as soon as you can! There's only one more day left!

Entering is very simple. Just send me an email with your favorite picture of your family (or even just your beautiful self!).
That's it - it's that easy! I will be accepting entries from now until December 12. The top 5 finalists will be featured on my blog on December 13. After the finalists are posted, readers can vote by commenting with the number of the photo they love the most. Voting will end on December 24. Please invite family and friends to vote for you (one vote per person per day). The winner will be announced on Christmas Day!

Your prize: The winner will receive a FREE session and a FREE 11x14 print. That's a $110 value!!!

So what are you waiting for?! Go tell everyone you know to enter this contest. All entries should be emailed to info [at] sweetface-photography.com

Official rules:
1. You must be a San Diego county resident or willing to travel here for your session.
2. Only one entry per person.
3. Professional portraits will not be accepted. Any professional pictures emailed to me will be discarded and not available for voting.
4. This contest is only open to new clients. If you are a previous client, please pass this information along to your friends and family so they can enter a chance to win.
5. Please include your name, address, and phone number, along with your entry photo.

Good luck!
